Patricia H. Glaude


Patricia H. Glaude, 74, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Pat was born on March 2, 1942 in Preston, daughter of the late Reno C. and Gladys M. (Westover) Maricle. She graduated from Cincinnatus Central School and earned her Master’s in Education at SUNY at Potsdam. While in college, she met William S. Hadley, Jr., whom she married on July 18, 1964 at the Congregational Church in Cincinnatus. Bill passed away on October 10, 1985. She married Lucian H. Glaude on June 13, 1987 in Brasher Falls, who predeceased her on February 8, 1997.
She taught music at St. Lawrence Central School, and was passionate in teaching music to her students, taking time to care about each one of them. She was a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Association.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, socializing, taking vacations, watching fireworks from her brother’s boat, games of chance and bowling. For many years, Pat traveled throughout the state for bowling tournaments. She was an active member of the American Legion Post # 514 Auxiliary, where she coordinated their Sunday Breakfasts for over 25 years and acquired many friends and memories throughout her life.
She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Beatrice and John Smith of Cincinnatus, her brother and sister in law, John and JoAnn Maricle of Cincinnatus, her nieces and nephews; Chris Smith, Michelle and Kurt Kannus, Lisa and Bill Schuyler, Timothy and Stephanie Smith, Jonelle and Michael Kohl, Jeffrey Maricle, Lori Mudge, LeAnn and Bob Hemming, Roger Snyder and Greg Snyder, 14 great nieces and nephews , a dear friend, JJ Brooks of Brookdale, step children, Roland and Ann Glaude, David Glaude and Lise and Don Stearns. Her son, Robert M. Hadley predeceased her on November 13, 1993.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19th at the Hammill Funeral Home from 12 to 2 pm, with her funeral to commence at 2 pm. Spring burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Brasher Falls on May 6th at 11:30 am, followed by a luncheon to celebrate her life at the American Legion Post # 514 in Winthrop.
