EVAH JANE PEEK
Evah Jane Peek, 76 yrs. old of the Town of Columbus passed away on February 11, 2017 in Cooperstown, NY.
Evah was born on January 18, 1941 in the Town of Columbus, the daughter of Raymond & Edith (Cooper) Winton. Her childhood was spent in Columbus and she attended New Berlin Central School through the 7th grade.
On October 5, 1957 she married Arthur Peek, her husband of 59 years.
Evah was employed by the Sherwood Factory of Sherburne, NY, the New Berlin Shoe Factory, Town Edge Ice Cream and the Columbus Hotel where she served as a waitress.
She loved country music, movies, hunting, family reunions, her solar window dancers and baking – still cooking for eight when only two were left at home.
In addition to her husband Arthur, Evah is survived by her children; Deborah (David) Slentz of Otselic, Arthur (Stella) Peek of New Berlin, Donald (Barbara) Peek of Sherburne, Robert (Brenda) Peek of Sherburne, William Peek of Newport, NY, son-in-law Patrick Clair of Ocala, FL, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Jack & Kay Winton, Larry & Peggy Winton, Laverne & Teresa Winton, Norman & Janey Winton, Gail (Robert) Endress & Peggy (Harold) Allen.
She was predeceased by her daughter Robin Clair in 2016.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 5:00 at the Whitney House, Town of Columbus, NY with Reverend Stephen Reese officiating. Calling hours will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM prior to the funeral service also at the Whitney House. A dinner will follow the funeral service.
