CATHERINE GRAVESEN
Catherine Gravesen, 81, of Port Charlotte, FL passed Feb 10, 2017, peacefully, surrounded by family.
Born July 5th 1935 in New Berlin, NY to Oscar and Henrietta (Mathewson) Fletcher.
Kate was predeceased by her husband Leo Gravesen, November 9, 2007.
Surviving are Kate’s two sisters, Betty (Fletcher) Mascolo, Barbara (Fletcher) Sweeney (John Cooper) and half-brother Forest Fletcher. Son, Michael (Debra) Gravesen, daughter, Cindy (Michael) Figger. Her 5 grandson’s David Gravesen (Kara, Fiancé), James (Sarah) Gravesen, Peter (Jennifer) Gravesen, Barrett (Stacey) Smith, Tyson Smith (Brandon, Fiancé). 4 great grandchildren Brycyn, Brynleigh Smith, Leo Gravesen, Jonathan Gravesen. Many niece’s nephews. One sister-in-law Elsie (Leif) Zakarriassen.
Kate had many work places: Norwich pharmaceutical, Kraft foods, Storer cable and ended her work career as co-owner with husband Leo at Century 21 Aaward Associates. Leo and Kate lived in New Berlin until they moved to Florida in 1978 for health reasons. Kate has lived in her home since the death of Leo with her faithful pet Odie by her side in the chair. She loved her years of bowling and the many cruises she went on over the years.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, NY.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, New Berlin, NY with Pastor William Allen officiating.
The interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin, NY.
