BEVERLY ANN BARKLEY STREICHERT
Beverly Ann Barkley Streichert, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, N.Y. Born Beverly Ann Ireland on September 20, 1933 in Guilford, NY. she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Howard) Ireland. Her father predeceased her when she was 6 days old. She was raised on her Grandparents Charles and Jessie Howard's farm located on White Store Road in Norwich and attended South New Berlin Schools. In 1950 Beverly married Gage Barkley, Jr. and in 1975 she married Richard Streichert. She began working at the Norwich Pharmaceutical Company in 1961, and continued to work there for 34 years until her retirement in 1995. She also worked at The Shoe Company and TOGS.
Beverly was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family, both at home and at her condo in Florida. Her family was the joy and center of her life. She will be remembered for her generosity, commitment to her family and friends along with her strong work ethic. She enjoyed getting together with her friends for coffee club, a good glass of wine or an Aqua Aerobics class at the YMCA. Beverly enjoyed traveling, including many bus trips, a cruise with friends and a trip to Europe with family.
Beverly is survived by her children Mary Ann (Reg) Vidler, Sheryl (Guy) Davis, Gary (Judy) Barkley, Gordon (Susan) Barkley, all of Norwich; Terry (Barb) Barkley of Unadilla and Deborah (Joe) Loewenstein of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Jack Parker (Alice Fazio), sister-in-laws Peggy Parker and Peggy Loucks; her grandchildren Shanee (Eric) Lomauro, Kirstin Vidler, Ben (Terah) Davis, Mike Davis, Jessica (Robert) Hoople, Cole (Bethany) Barkley, Julia (Justin) Herring, Michael, Andrew and Hannah Loewenstein and her great-grandchildren Maleah, Nick, Mike, Millie, Kaiden, Grace, Ava, Redford and Levi along with many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Beverly was predeceased by her parents, grandparents, stepfather Stanley Parker, brothers Jerry Parker, Ronald and Charlie Loucks and her infant triplets Helmuth, Richard and Ann Marie Streichert.
Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life, which will be held on Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at RJ Fahy Funeral Home, Norwich, NY from 3 – 6 pm. Committal services will be held at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Norwich, NY.
