JAMES M. BRANCATO
SHERBURNE – James M. Brancato, 70, of North Main St., passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Norwich Rehab and Nursing Center.
He was born January 27, 1946 in Norwich, a son of the late James M. and Rose Pepe Brancato. He received his early education in Sherburne schools and was a graduate of Norwich High School. Affectionately known as “Muskie”, James worked at Lewis’ Restaurant in Sherburne until retiring. He was an avid sports fan and a history buff. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are three sisters and a brother-in-law, Maria E. Galton of Canastota; Gail Huhtala of Norwich; Kathleen and Gary Welch of Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Helen Brancato of Norwich; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Alicia Gelsomin. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Brancato.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the spring at a later date and time to be announced.
Interment will be in St. Malachy’s Cemetery, Sherburne.
