HAROLD A. BRUNSCHMID
SHERBURNE – Harold A. Brunschmid, 86, of Farley Rd., passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He was born November 27, 1930 in Sherburne, a son of William A. and Mary Latz Brunschmid and received his education at Sherburne Central School. On September 25, 1948, Harold married Guileen Cunningham at St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne. Harold worked on the family farm and then became a machinist for Jim Pounds. He later worked at Unison in Norwich for 12 years as a certified government welder until retiring. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and tinkering with small engines. He also enjoyed the company of his two best four-legged friends, Lydia and Archie.
Harold was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne.
He is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Guileen; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Debbie Brunschmid of Sherburne; daughter, Tricia Walls of Sherburne; brother and sister-in-law, James and Yoshiko Brunschmid of Oregon; sisters-in-law, Corky Cunningham of Washington, and Lois Brunschmid of Pittsfield; his grandchildren, Debra and John Brady, Sean and Melissa Brigham, Jackie Brunschmid and Dan Horton, Robert Brunschmid, Miranda Walls and Tristan Walls; great-grandchildren, Megan, Kayla, Hannah, Lilie and Colin. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Crandall, two brothers, Charles and William Brunschmid; brothers-in-law, William Cunningham and Lyle Crandall; and a sister-in-law, Priscilla Brunschmid Webb.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
