Bruce Randall Hutchings


Bruce Randall Hutchings, 65, died at his home in Norwich NY on January 4, 2017.
He was born in Utica NY on June 22, 1951, the eldest of 5 children of Guy Randall Hutchings and Jeanne Marie Kimball. He attended North Brookfield schools and graduated from Waterville High School. He spent his childhood in North Brookfield NY where he lived with his parents and Grandma Julia Holden Hutchings. There are many good memories of Bruce growing up with his siblings and many cousins, and they all were urged by Grandma Julia and Aunt Jeanne to attend bible school every summer.
He served in the US Army, completing 2 tours in Vietnam. He married Diane Briggs who predeceased him on April 13, 2015. Bruce was a dairy farmer and also drove milk trucks for Snyder’s in Perryville and Whadham in Canastota for 18 years until his retirement. Bruce was a member of the American Legion Post 876 in Sherburne.
He is survived by his children Mary (Brian Nemeth) McKeraghan of Smyrna, Randall (Holli Cross) of Sherburne, Bruce Randall Hutchings Jr., of Florida, Faith Brown of Greene, NY, and Karen Brown of Norwich, NY. grandchildren Carter and Brealynn Hutchings and Carly and Alivia Nemeth, three brothers, Claude (Carol ) Hutchings , Sauquoit, Dana (Donna) Hutchings of Cassville NY, Brian Hutchings of Norwich, NY and a sister Kathy Hutchings of Pennsylvania and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY on Friday January 13, 2017 at 6:00 PM. with the Reverend David Mayo officiating. Interment will take place in the spring.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-6pm.
