Marjorie “Marge” M. Usher, 75, of Greene, NY, passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY, on Sunday, December 25, 2016. Mrs. Usher was preceded in death by her husband William D. Usher and two sons William D. Usher II and Scott O. Usher. She is survived by her sister Janet Hadlock of Sherburne, NY, daughter Valerie S. Usher of Washington, DC, daughter Vickie Morf of Winter Springs, FL and two granddaughters Gina and Alyssa Morf.
Mrs. Usher was born to Frank and Pearl Shannon on August 13, 1941. She went to Norwich High School and graduated in 1959. She had a diverse work background, including working for several years at NBT Bank. She was a dedicated and spirited wife, mother, and friend. She spent countless hours reading, tending to her many plants and watching movies.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her son William’s scholarship fund that was created in 2009 to honor his memory. Donation checks should be made payable to the USC Thornton School of Music, with "Usher Scholarship" notated in the memo line and mailed to: William D. Usher II Scholarship, USC Thornton School of Music, 840 West 34th St. MUS 408, Los Angeles, CA 90089-0851. Private burial services will be held in the spring.
