Maria L. Restrepo


Maria L. Restrepo, 34, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 22, 2016. She passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital, in Johnson City.
Born June 4, 1982, in Oklahoma City, OK, Maria was the daughter of Marco J. and Kathleen (Tyler) Restrepo, each of whom survives. Maria loved life and was always happy to go to Day-Hab in Norwich. She lived at Springbrook, an adult living home, for 13 years with five other residents, Mo, Terri, Rose, Trisha, and Rocky, each of whom became Maria’s companions. Maria loved to listen to all kinds of music and loved to watch movies.
In addition to her parents, Maria is survived by Grammie Barbara Eldred, uncle Tom and aunt Debbie Tyler, uncle Manuel and aunt Melanie Restrepo, cousins Tom and Marianne Tyler, Jenny and Brian Emma, Colin Scheuer, and Cheryl Restrepo, Godmother Linda Stiess, and all of her friends at Day-Hab. She was predeceased by her sister Alicia Restrepo, Papa Fidel and Grandma Virginia Restrepo, Papa Frank Eldred, Grandpa Louis Tyler, and Nana Margaret White.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion offered to Maria by the staff at Day-Hab and Springbrook.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Maria will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at St. Bartholomew’s Church, where Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
