LUCY MAY JOHNSON
Lucy May Johnson, 81, of Norwich, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016. She was born on October 2, 1935, the daughter of the late Claude and Helen Ethel Johnson. She is survived by her siblings, Betty Seeber, of Hot Springs, AR; Claudine and Henry Parker, of Hot Springs, AR; William Johnson, of Norwich; Sally Rothwell, of Plymouth; Marjorie Parker, of Earlville; Richard and Maggie Johnson, of Sherburne; Linda and William Excell, of Earlville; and Claudia Gesslein, of Sherburne; her sister in law, Rosalee Johnson, of North Norwich; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including her special friend, Richard. In addition to her parents, Lucy was predeceased by her brothers, Clyde Johnson, and James Johnson; her sister, Sandra Johnson; her sisters in law, Claudia Johnson, and Catherine Johnson; her brothers in law, Wally Cook, Lauren Seeber, Robert Rothwell, and James Parker, Jr.; as well as one niece and nephew. Lucy enjoyed making people laugh by playing the “bumblebee” game, she also loved writing, coloring, birthday parties and Christmas. Her favorite song was You Are My Sunshine and she sang it often. Lucy will be laid to rest in the spring West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to Chenango Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility 179 N. Broad St. Norwich, NY 13815 or to Norwich Fire Department EMS, 31 E. Main St. Norwich, NY 13815. Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich.
