Ida M. Lester, 89 of Norwich passed away on December 12, 2016 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich. She was born on May 21, 1927 in Oswego, NY a daughter of the late Nallie and Mildred Pries. On October 19, 1947, she married Loren W. Lester, who predeceased her.
She is survived by her sons, Albert and Lisa Lester, Loren Lester and Kathy Smith, Larry and Laura Lester, and Vance and Connie Lester. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Doreen, and her siblings, Bertha, Florence, Roy and Jenevene.
Ida worked for many years at Norwich Mills, followed by cooking at Camp Oxford-Guilford. She was a foster mother to many children over the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and watching the little ones play.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring on her 90th birthday.
