Mary Louise Turner


EARLVILLE –  Mary Louise Turner, 87, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 25, 2016 after a fall and brief illness.
Mary was born in Earlville on April 9, 1929, the daughter of Merton and Kathleen Jenne. She was one of eight children. She graduated from Earlville High School and married Donald R. Turner of Sherburne on May 25, 1951. Together they bought a farm and devoted their lives to running it successfully and raising their family. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and an active, loving grandmother and great grandmother. She had a strong work ethic and was determined not to be idle. Besides leading a busy life on the farm, she enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, knitting and gardening. She was an active member of the Sherburne United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son Harold of Deansboro, NY, and daughters Carolyn (Mark) McDonald of St. Charles, IL and Rita (Erik) Longman of Sherburne, NY; 10 grandchildren: Rachel Farrow-Beers, Elijah Farrow, Jessica Farrow, Daniel Farrow, Elizabeth Farrow, Lyn Farrow, William Turner, Brian McDonald, Sarah McDonald, Mary Longman and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 64 years, Don (2016), two infant children: a son Charles (1953), a daughter Josephine (1955) and her oldest daughter Lynda Farrow (1999).
In keeping with Mary's wishes, a service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00am at the Sherburne United Church of Christ.
Interment will be private at Sherburne West Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the Earlville Free Library or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess& Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St, Sherburne.
