Susan (Brown) Lewis of Greene passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. She died as she lived her life, gently and without complaint. Susan’s caring could radiate in trying times. She lifted her visiting friends and family with humor and levity making the pain of her own passing gentler on those who cared.
In her final weeks she was affected deeply with the show of support by our community and by her closest friends and coworkers at Lourdes. Susan’s compassion and sense of giving was not limited by her will, but only by the hours of the day.
She is survived by her husband John, her sons Steven, Martin, Michael, her daughter Heather; her mother and step-father, Beverly and James Doughty and her horses. She was predeceased by her father, Donald Brown and mother-in-law Florence Lewis. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters, and a wonderful extended family that reached far and loved further.
Private viewing and internment. A memorial Mass was held Monday, November 7 at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Greene, NY.
A benefit for Susan will be held Sunday Nov. 13 from noon until 4pm at the Hitchin Post Restaurant 1474 NYS Rt. 7 Port Crane, N.Y. Email: BenefitForSueLewis@gmail.com.
