David A. Burdick


David A. Burdick, Sr., 67, of Hummelstown, PA and formerly of Norwich, passed away Thursday evening, November 3, 2016, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Dave was born in Norwich on September 30, 1949 the son of William and Jean (Gardner) Burdick. He spent the early years of his life in Cincinnatus and Norwich and attended school in both of these areas. Following his education he entered the United States Navy serving his country from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969. Returning to Norwich Dave gained employment with Victory Markets where he worked in the warehouse for 23 years. He subsequently moved to Hummelstown, PA where he was employed by Ingam Micro in Harrisburg for 18 years retiring in October of 2013. Following his retirement Dave and his wife were fulltime RV’rs traveling up and down the east coast. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing and his camp on Lake Ontario.
On June 24, 1974 in New Berlin he married Paula Chesebro who survives.
Besides his wife Paula, Dave is survived by his children David Burdick and wife Wendy of Norwich, Shannon Bitzer and husband Stephen of Saratoga Springs, grandchildren Tyler, Audrey and Matthew Bitzer and great grandchild Demetrius Bitzer. Also surviving are his siblings Sharon Tinglof of MA, Sheila Montgomery of South New Berlin, Brenda Schader of Sherburne, Tina Williams of Madison, Tammy Bilodeau of MA, Kevin Mayne of NJ, Ricky Mayne of Eaton, Becky Allen of Groton and Billie Jo Muscarella of Eaton along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Dave will be held on Saturday, November 12, at the Norwich Township Grange from 12-4 p.m.
Arrangements are with the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home.
