SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Norman Wightman, 88, of South New Berlin, died October 23, 2016 at Wilson Hospital in Binghamton after a short illness.
Born March 30, 198, in the Town of New Berlin, was the son of Jay Morris Wightman and Helen Christman, who predeceased him.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in South New Berlin, NY.
He was employed by Triple A Southern California Auto Club where he was a supervisor for 26 years. He went to Canton Community College and was in the AOT fraternity. He then went to Hartford Airlines School where he graduated in Hotel Management. He then traveled to New York City then went to Los Angeles, Calif., where he stayed until returning to South New Berlin, living with Benjamin/Sandra Izard.
He has a surviving brother Robert Wightman, who lives in South New Berlin with his daughter Robin and Mike Voorhes. He has many nephews/nieces.
He loved dancing, swimming, football, baseball and winter sports, traveling in the USA and abroad, His favorite flowers were red roses and carnations.
Norman will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in South New Berlin, beside his mother and father.
