Robert J. Clough


Robert J. Clough, 79 of Oxford, formerly of Johnson City and Columbus, Ohio passed away on October 24, 2016 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, RHCF. He was born on October 12, 1937 in Johnson City a son of the late Stanley and Elsie (Seward) Clough. He was married to the former, Jeanne May.
He is survived by his children; Kelly Lee Cantwell of Columbus, Ohio and Phillip Jennings Gaueer of Columbus, Ohio; his sister, Susan Joy of Amherst, NH; his cousin, Lois Clough Swagerty of Carlsbad, CA; his special friend, Ann Cobb of Binghamton and several nieces and nephews, including Jonathan Grumblatt of Derry, NH. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Roger Clough.
Bob graduated from North High School, Columbus, Ohio in 1955 and Miami University of Ohio, where he played baseball. Bob had taught science and was a coach in Columbus, Ohio. He enjoyed golfing, especially with his uncle Phil. He enjoyed music - especially the hit songs of the 50s, Elvis, and Johnny Cash. Even more than that he loved to reminisce about his memories of Ohio and growing-up there. He loved his mother’s apple pie. He enjoyed sport, including football, baseball, basketball and bowling. He enjoyed his collection of 45’s of 50s music, including Elvis Presley. He attended Faith Bible Church in Oxford.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, with Rev. Josh Rathmell, pastor of Faith Bible Church officiating.
