Floyd M. Neal Iii


Floyd M. Neal III, 60, of North Pitcher, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY, after becoming ill at work.
Born in Oxford, NY, on May 18, 1956, Floyd was the son of the late F. Maxson Neal II and Ruth Griffin Neal. A lifetime resident of this area, he was a 1974 graduate of Otselic Valley Central School and received his associate’s degree from Alfred State. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Otselic where he served as an active trustee and financial secretary and was also past deacon. He, along with his brother, Herb, owned and operated Neals 2 Build contractors. He was also a member of the Pitcher Town Council. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, and playing golf and basketball. A loving husband and father, he will be dearly missed by his family and community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Robin Root Neal; and their sons, Christopher Neal and his girlfriend, Janet, and her children, Travon, Brayona, and Zeyona, all of Watkins Glen, and Matthew Neal of N. Pitcher. He also leaves behind his siblings, Sally (Rob) Sargeant of Charlottesville, VA, Herb (Cynthia) Neal of S. Otselic, Louise (Myron) Cooper of Port Hope, Ontario, and Thomas Neal of N. Pitcher; an aunt, Eva Neal of Sherburne; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Brian; and nephews, Andrew Martin Neal and Robert Davis Sargeant.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of South Otselic on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with his pastor, Reverend Jim Moore, officiating. Burial will be in North Pitcher Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Floyd may be directed to the Neal’s Sons College Fund, c/o NBT Bank, P.O.
