Ambrose Jackson


NEW BERLIN – Ambrose Wolfe Jackson, 91, passed away peacefully at the Chase Nursing Home, New Berlin where he received respectful, loving and dedicated care this past year.
He was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Walton, the son of Percy and Anna Jackson. Ambrose graduated in 1935 from Walton High School and in 1938 graduated from Delhi Ag School. He was drafted in the U.S. Navy in 1945. After operating a dairy farm in South New Berlin for 20 years Ambrose went to work for the Norwich Pharmacal Company where he retired after fifteen years
Surviving are his loving wife Dora; four daughters and sons-in-laws, Linda and Philip Tiffany, Norwich; Donna and Merv Jones, South New Berlin; Ruth and Peter Tompkins, Guilford; and Suzanne and Ken Sigas, Albany. Also surviving are one brother, William and wife Linda Jackson, Walton; sisters Margaret Bailey, Walton; Ruth Kelsey, Waverly; Catherine Ward, Oneonta, and a sister-in-law, Janet Jackson of Sarasota, Fla. He was predeceased by two brothers, Percy Jr. and Arthur Jackson and a sister Minnie Vandermark. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Ambrose was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of New Berlin. Memorial contributions can be made to ones favorite charity.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Dakin Funeral Home in New Berlin at 10 a.m. with Pastor Allan Carpenter of the First Baptist Church. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home LP of New Berlin.
