Marjorie Louise Kinney Cornelius Murdoch


Marjorie Louise Kinney Cornelius Murdoch, 97, of Norwich passed away early Monday morning, October 17, 2016, in the Residential Health Care Facility of Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Marjorie was born in German on March 24, 1919 the daughter of Bennie & Grace (Brown) Kinney. She grew up in the German & Pitcher area and attended the Cincinnatus school. Marjorie lived in Cincinnatus until 1957 when she moved to Frostproof, FL. While living in Cincinnatus and Frostproof she worked as a beautician from 1948-1964. In 1989 she moved back to Norwich with her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Marsha Cornelius.
Marjorie enjoyed life and was a gifted painter and loved her birds, especially cardinals.
On March 10, 1939 she married Walter L. Cornelius who passed away April 6, 1963 and on April 19, 1975 she married Rev. George J. Murdoch who passed away October 1, 1979
Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Marsha Cornelius, her grandson Brian Golden of Nashville, her siblings Dora Mae Peck of Norwich, Burt G. Kinney of Greene, Silas G. Kinney of Pueblo, Co and her sister-in-law Agnes Kinney. Several step – grandchildren, step- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Besides her husbands, Marjorie was predeceased by her step-children C. Boyd Murdoch, Mary E. Corry, her sister Adelaide Doupe and her brother Glenn B. Kinney.
A funeral service for Marjorie will be held on Thursday at Noon from the R. J. Fahy Funreal Home. The Rev. David Spiegel, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Norwich will officiate. Interment will follow in the Taylor Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 10-12.
