Harry R. Pollard


Harry R. Pollard, 98 formerly of Greene passed away on October 3, 2016 at the NYS Veterans Home, Oxford, NY He was born on September 15,1918 in Brooklyn a son of the late Harry and Alda Pollard. On January 1, 1942 he married Inez Hill, who predeceased him in 2009.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Nancy and Lyle Warren of Eaton and his son and daughter in law, James and Jan Pollard of Greene; his grandchildren, Mark and Tina Sutherland, Robin Lorenzen, Tracy and LaMont Clark, Paul Baranoski, Kristen and David McDevitt, Kenneth and Vanessa Woodcock, and Colin Pollard; 12 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his brother, Glenn and his sisters, Marguerite and Thelma.
Harry graduated from Greene Central School in 1938. He served in the US Army Air Corp from 1941-1946 reaching the rank of Technical Sergeant as a cryptopgrapher. He operated a dairy farm from 1946 untill 1965. He then worked at The Raymond Corporation. He was a member of Binghamton Post #1254, American Legion. He enjoyed playing Town Team baseball until 1962. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and bowling.
A memorial service will be held at the Kennedy Funeral Home 21 North Chenango St., Greene, NY at a time to be announced.
