Nancy J. Vancourt, 64, of Norwich, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 after a long illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Ida Ecker; her stepfather, Waldo Coy; her daughter, Brenda Vancourt; and her brother, John Ecker. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Clarence Vancourt; her children, Wendy and Paul Eberhart; Doreen and Larry Graham; and Bob and Bonnie Vancourt; her grandchildren, David and Regina Marshfield; Derek Marshfield; Christopher Marshfield; Cayla Vancourt; and Ashley Vancourt; her great-grandchildren, Omar, Maggie, Declan, and Ava; her brothers, Wesley and Mary Ecker; Edwin Ecker; George Ecker; and James and Lucinda Coy; her sister, Vickie Coy and Chuck Arnold; as well as many nieces and nephews. Nancy loved reading books, writing poems, watching sci-fi movies, playing computer games and cooking. She was friendly and generous to everyone she met. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 21 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Activities Department at Chenango Memorial Hospital Nursing Home, 179 N. Broad St. Norwich, NY 13815. Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich.
