Leonard Gregory Skoros

Leonard Gregory Skoros, best known as Lenny, peacefully left this world Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016.
Knowing that his home was his absolute paradise, Lenny’s family made sure to give him the gift of spending one last night there where he took his very last breath. For his final evening, he was surrounded by his family, who showered him with love and laughter, jokes and goodbyes.
Lenny, a New Jersey transplant, moved to upstate NY with his wife Gail to raise a family in the safety and beauty of Oxford, NY. Gail and Lenny met at the age of 18 and have remained friends since. Lenny’s love for this area inspired other close friends from high school to follow him north. He remained a loyal friend to many over the years, even a few from grammar school age. Gail and Lenny had three children, Christopher, Corinne, and Virginia, whom he got to watch grow and have families of their own.
Lenny was a very ambitious man who worked hard and played hard. He ran several small businesses over the years and was an estate manager for 30+ years. There wasn't a job he couldn’t do. Lenny was amazing with numbers and is known for making people think, having a strong work ethic, and being a man of his word. To his kids, he will always remain the smartest man they will ever know.
His interests included hunting with his buddies, riding his Harley Davidson, and being a regular at the Chinese Buffet. Amongst his inner circle, he is famous for his linguine and clam sauce, his soulful laugh and his amazing ability to tell stories.
The family is holding a Celebration of Life Picnic on September 10, 2016 starting at noon. This potluck style gathering will be held at Lenny’s home, 808 Puckerville Road in Oxford, where we can all eat, drink, and be merry celebrating the life of a truly great man. Everyone who knew Len and the Skoros family are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Lenny’s honor to Chenango County’s Relay for Life or to the NRA… “Wubah”!
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY. Friends and family may share their memories and condolences by visiting www.behefuneralhome.com.
