GORDON E. McLAREN, JR.
NORWICH – Gordon E McLaren, Jr., 74, of Bourbon St., passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at his home.
He was born November 15, 1941 in Montclair, NJ, a son of the late Gordon E., Sr. and W.A. Keating McLaren and was a graduate of West Patterson High School. Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He married Joann C. Jackson in Paterson, NY on March 23, 1963. Gordon had worked for several companies including Gulf Oil Corp, Union Builders Construction in Clifton, NJ, T.R.L. Trucking and various other trucking companies, and Baillie Lumber in Smyrna. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting model trains. He was a supporter of wildlife, the S.P.C.A. and Native American children.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his fiancée, Caroline E. Aber of Norwich; his children, Tammy and Marty Logsdon of Norwich; Zina Arredondo of Mesa, AZ; Tina McLaren of Norwich; Gordon E. McLaren, III of Carlstadt, NJ; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Chuck McNeil of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, Crystal and Ryan Schader of So. Plymouth; Martin Logsdon, Jr. of Norwich; Elxis and Ava McLaren of Carlstadt, NJ; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Demoleigh and Martin, III; a nephew, Robert McLaren, Jr. and his family; a nieces, Linda McLaren and her family; Doris Stephens and her family. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert McLaren, and a nephew Terri Cisco.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Sunday, August 28, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
There are no calling hours.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
