Max W. Perkins


Max W. Perkins, 57, of Smyrna, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at his home.
Max is survived by his wife Kathleen (Muserilli) Perkins; daughters Erin (Perkins) Pharr, Jessica Campbell-Lewis, Deanna (Campbell) Parsons and her husband, David, Rebecca Campbell and his son, Matthew Perkins; and his beloved grandchildren Avery, Alekzander, Aiden, Andreanna, Addison, Alexa, A'myiah, June, and Nora. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Max was born August 27, 1958, at Dover Air Base in Delaware. He graduated from Sherburne-Earlville Central Schools in 1976 and served in the U.S. Air Force from April 1983 to January 1989. On July 15th, 1995, Max married the love of his life, Kathleen Muserilli, in Smyrna. He was recently employed as a 911 Dispatcher with the Chenango County Sheriff's Office in Norwich. Max’s most prized gifts were his grandchildren that knew him as their beloved "Popsy". He also enjoyed walking, gardening and bird watching.
Friends are invited to call from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday July 9, 2016, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Norwich, NY. A graveside celebration of Max’s life will immediately follow at the place of burial, Sherburne Quarter Cemetery, Route 12B, Sherburne, NY. Max will also be presented with military honors at his place of rest.
Max’s family extends a special thanks to the many friends and family in the area that have been so very supportive and caring during this difficult time. Immediately following the burial, family will receive friends at their home, located at 346 County Road 20, Smyrna, NY.
