ROSA GIANNOCARO
SMYRNA – Rosa Vespucci Giannoccaro, 99, of Boos-Law Rd., passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
Rosa was born on January 26, 1917 in Putignano, Bari, Italy, a daughter of Valentino and Maria Puglise Vespucci and received her education in local schools. Rosa married Vito Giannoccaro who predeceased her. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at a sanitorium in Putignano.
Rosa was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Margaret Spinelli of Smyrna; Valentino “Val” and Camille Spinelli of Pace, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Lina and Emanule Lopriore of Putignano, Bari, Italy; grandchildren, Vito (Fanci) Spinelli, Marrero, LA; Marisa Spinelli, Orlando, FL; Christopher Spinelli (fiancée, Elizabeth Pujdak), Mineola, NY, Jennifer (Gabriel) Garcia, Waverly, NY, Joseph (Michelle) Spinelli, AL, Debbie Oakes, of FL; Katie Rose Spinelli, Pace, FL; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Giorgio, Vincent and Pierino, and a sister Nina Vespucci Gonella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, May 26, 2016 from St. Malachy’s Church, Sherburne, followed by interment in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
