Ronald B. Excell


EARLVILE – Ronald B. Excell, 73, of Earlville passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.
He was born February 13, 1943 in Earlville, the son of Beatrice Excell Baker, and attended Earlville Central School. Ron worked at Colgate University, Bennett Ireland, Backus Sales and the Huff Brau Tavern. A lifelong Earlville resident, he was also a life member of the Earlville Fire Department and a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was known by many nicknames, including Rox X, Jess and Smoky, among others. Ron enjoyed fishing, playing on the shuffleboard league, and watching TV, including NASCAR with Jeff Gordon. He was a huge Elvis fan. He loved spending time at the Huff Brau having a good time with his friends.
Ron is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Darwin Wilson; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Excell; nephews, William Excell and wife, Linda; Terry Excell and partner Josh; Jeff Excell and wife, Kelli; and Chet Wilson; nieces, Rhonda Lynn and partner Bob; and Elizabeth Larmon and fiance Tom Thomas. He was predeceased by his mother and his brother, William Excell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, followed by interment in the Graham Cemetery, Hubbardsville.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
There will be a Fire Department service at 8:45 pm.
