Raymond “Jim” Miller, 85, of Canastota passed away Tuesday at the V.A. Medical Center in Syracuse after a short illness. He leaves behind his companion Laurine Allen and her children. Also survived by his children, Bonnie (Hoke) Friedel of New Berlin and Craig Hoke (Vicki) of Mississippi and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. Jim was raised by his grandmother in the Walton area. Some of his best times were when he served in the Navy and sailed around the world. He retired as a foreman from Syracuse Plastics. In keeping with Jim’s wishes there are no calling hours or services. A private burial will be held at a later date. He will be missed.
