McDONOUGH – David Miles Purdy, 93, passed away Sept. 21, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina.
Mr. Purdy was born in McDonough, a son of the late Claude and Ellen Skillman Purdy. He was a retired executive with Ivon R. Ford, Inc., and a member of the Church of the Redeemer, Mauldin.
Surviving are two sons, David M. Purdy and his wife Lois of Miramar Beach, Fla., and John R. Purdy and his wife Linda of Mauldin; four grandchildren, Heather (Dustin) Rash, Julie (Matt) Westra, Michelle (Paul) Jensen, and Jennifer (John) Hart; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Stephen Purdy of Lancaster, Pa. Predeceased were his wife of 70 years, Genevieve Purdy; and three brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Our Redeemer, 120 Mauldin Rd., Greenville.
