Virginia A. Taranto, 89, of North Broad Street, and a lifelong resident of Norwich, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 15, 1926, in Norwich, Virginia was the daughter of Salvatore and Rosaria (Vanaria) Taranto. A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at St. Bartholomew's Church where Rev. Ralph Bove, pastor, will officiate. There will no be calling hours. Burial at St. Paul's Cemetery will take place in the spring.
