NORWICH – Joan C. Ciampa, 70, of Norwich, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 19, 2009 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Queens in March of 1939, Joan was the daughter of Carmen and Amelia Pietrasko Barcia. She attended school in the Richmond Hill section of Queens and on Sept. 29, 1964 in New York City married John Ciampa, who passed away Feb. 1, 2007. Joan spent most of her life in the New York City area and in 1994, she and her husband moved to Norwich.
Joan is survived by her sons: John and Michael Ciampa both of Woodhaven, Queens and Frederick Clark III; her grandchildren: Angelica Christine Ciampa and Justin Matthew Ciampa and her great-grandchild, Alyssa Nicole Hargett.
Funeral services for Joan will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery of Oxford.
