Victoria M. Matott


SHERBURNE – Victoria M. Matott, 52, of Sanitarium Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.
Victoria was born May 12, 1963 in Norwich, a daughter of Leon and Virginia South Sherwood. She graduated from Sherburne-Earlville Central School and received her RN degree from SUNY, Morrisville. She was currently the registered nurse at the Norwich Middle School. Victoria married Mark S. Matott on September 30, 1989 in Sherburne. An outgoing, charismatic and charming person, Vicky was dedicated to the healthcare field. She was a member of the Chenango County Public Health Advisory Board, and had worked at Opportunities for Chenango supervising and helping with the health care needs of children.
Surviving are her former husband, Mark; her daughters, Megan and Sarah Matott of Sherburne; her father, Leon Sherwood of Sherburne; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doreen Sherwood-Sitts and Herman “Jack” Sitts of Norwich; Marlyn and Gordon Martin-Dick of Portland, OR; a brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Sue Sherwood of New Smyrna Beach, FL; her in-laws, Burton and Teresa Matott of Sherburne; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend, Amy Jeffrey. She was predeceased by her mother, Virginia Sherwood, and a brother, Jason Sherwood.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Friday February 12, 2016 from 7-9pm.
Funeral services will be private with interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
