CLARA BURDICK
Clara Burdick, 92 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY entered Heavens Gates on January 25, 2016.
Clara was born on March 12, 1923 in Burlington Flats, NY the daughter of William and Alice (Montgomery) Ramsey. Her childhood was spent in the Burlington Flats and Richfield Springs area where she attended local schools. Her later life was spent as a Family Care Provider where she proudly cared for others for almost 50 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion and was a Charter Member of the Fireman’s Auxiliary.
Clara was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family; holiday dinners were spent at her home where it was often overflowing with family and love. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and in groups as a Family Care Provider. The last 5 years of her life were spent at Chase Memorial Nursing Home where she was lovingly cared for by staff who fondly referred to her as Momma. Upon her passing one of the nurses said, “God has a special angel coming his way.“ The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Clara their greatest gratitude.
On June 29, 1950 she married Russell Burdick who predeceased her on January 13, 1979.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Ramsey Perkins as well as cousins, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Donald, Lloyd and Gordon Ramsey.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
