GREENE – Katherine Marie (Moran) Hall, of Greene, passed away on Sept. 17, 2009 at the home of her daughter; she was 93.
Born in Coventry, Marie was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (McKenna) Moran.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ganisin of Greene; grandchildren, Theresa (Jim) Brant of Greene, Krista (Randy) Nowalk of Huntersville, N.C., and Ron (Marti) Hall of Mtn. City, Tenn. Also surviving are her five beloved grandchildren, Nick, Joe, Carlie, Alexandra and Brandon. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Hall; her son, Joe Hall; and her six siblings.
Marie was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Greene where she had served as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Her deep and abiding faith gave her great comfort throughout her long life and during her illness.
Born September 15, 1916, she lived most of her life on the family's farm on East River Road in Greene. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, and was a devoted animal lover. Marie was never too busy to discuss religion or politics over a cup of tea.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Immaculate Conception Church in Greene on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial arrangements will be handled by Root Funeral Home with burial in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery. She will be deeply missed by her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad.
