MARGERY D. ALDRICH
Margery (Bobbie) D. Aldrich, 90, of Corona, California died on December 31, 2015 at Brookdale Magnolia, an assisted living facility.
Born in 1925 Bobbie was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kiefer) Smith of Germantown and Chestnut Hill, PA. She graduated from Germantown High School and attended Gettysburg College.
Bobbie was united in marriage to Walter D. Aldrich of Norwich, NY on October 5th, 1945; they were married for 70 years.
Prior to moving to Corona in 2010, Bobbie resided in Wilmington, DE for many years. She worked as a guide at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library and was active in the Canterbury Garden Club. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Before moving to Wilmington in 1965, Bobbie resided in Norwich, NY, where she was an active member and president for one year of the Norwich Garden Club. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary.
Bobbie is survived by her husband Walter, daughters Linda D. Aldrich of Wilmington and Martha L. Wolf of Corona; grandchildren Barbara L. Ley (Paul Brewer) of Newark DE, Eric P. Wolf (Eva) of Corona Del Mar, CA, and David L. Ley (Erica Beck) of Mt. Kisco, NY. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Avery, Oliver, Elliot, and Hazel Beck-Ley; Natalie and Henry Wolf; and Xander and Zoe Brewer-Ley.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joseph and Donald Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, 5105 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19735 or Brookdale Magnolia, 737 Magnolia Avenue, Corona, CA 92879. The final interment and service will be held for family and friends at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Mt. Airy, PA at a later date.
