CHARLES W. (CHUCKY) COMBES
Charles W. (Chucky) Combes, 82, a lifelong resident of Norwich and most recently of Cincinnatus, passed away early Friday morning, December 25, 2015.
Charles was born on February 9, 1933 in Norwich the son of Benjamin and Ruth (Cookhouse) Combes. He spent his entire life in Norwich where he worked for the family business, Combes Sanitation, and eventually Bert Adams from which he retired just last November.
Charles was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked taking Sunday road trips with family and stopping for ice cream and especially enjoyed going for rides on his brother-in-laws Trike.
Charles is survived by his siblings; Mary Lindholm of TN, Eva Fowlston, Helen Rowe and husband Clarence, Rose Whittaker and husband Jim, June Conway and husband Ernest, Nina Lieb, John Combes and wife Betty all of Norwich, Frank Combes and companion Sharon of Preston and Earl Combes and wife Rose of Cincinnatus. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Charles was predeceased by his sisters Mabel, Grace and Pearl and brothers Joe, George and Harry Sr.
A funeral service for Charles will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 am from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Hale, Pastor of the Broad St. United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
