PHILIP ‘PJ’ CASHMAN
Philip “PJ” Cashman, of Dayton, MT passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2015 in Dayton, MT. He was born on November 4, 1981 in Norwich, NY a son of Michael Cashman, Sr. and Lillian Allison Cashman.
He is survived by his father, Michael Cashman, Sr. of Eagle River, AK; his mother Lillian Cashman of Sherburne, NY; his daughter, Madison Olivia Spicer of Utica; his sister, Heather and Pat Borrelli of Mahopac, NY; his brothers, Michael Cashman, Jr. of Eagle River, AK, David and Laura Cashman of Middleburg Heights, OH, and Josh Cashman of Cortland, NY; and his grandmothers, Connie Cashman of Richmond, VA and Gladys Allison of Sherburne, NY. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
PJ was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 2001. He served in the United States Marine Corp, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. He then joined the US Army attaining the rank of Sergeant and received the Purple Heart while serving in Afghanistan. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed being outdoors.
A memorial service will be held on December 28, 2015 at 7:30 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY with Pastor Kenneth Fallon officiating. Military honors will be provided by members of Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion and The Patriot Guard Riders.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on December 28, 2015 from 6:00 PM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for his daughter at NBT Bank, 10 North Canal St., Oxford, NY 13830.
