Frank Dinoto


NORWICH – Frank A. DiNoto 77, passed away on Aug. 5, 2009 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Fredonia after an extended illness.
He was born in Norwich on Jan. 10, 1932, the son of Salvatore and Josephine (Sastri) Dinoto, who predeceased him. Frank is survived by his children, Deborah DiNoto of Machias and Michael DiNoto of Fredonia; his granddaughter, Kristen of Fredonia; his sister, Josephine Lojewski of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marie DiNoto of Norwich; and his brother and sister-in-law James and Pauline DiNoto of Endwell. He is also survived by an aunt, two uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends.
Frank graduated from Norwich High School and went on to receive his B.S. from SUNY Albany and his M.S. from Penn State. He was a teacher and guidance counselor for more than 25 years in the Fishkill and Patchogue school districts. From 1963 until 1975, Frank was the Director of the Student Financial Dept. at the State University in Fredonia. He later worked for the Saryo Corporation of Newburgh as a sales representative. Frank also served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. Frank was a lover of the arts and also enjoyed music. In his last years, he moved back to Fredonia to be with his family.
A graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Norwich on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to the home of Robert and Marie DiNoto immediately following the service for food and fellowship in Frank’s memory.
