Vickey Law

NORWICH – Vickey L. Law, 48, of Norwich, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 16, 2009, in the Mt. Sinai Hospital of New York City, following a long illness.
The daughter of Richard and June Westover Miles, Vickey was born in Norwich in November of 1960 and attended the Norwich schools while growing up. Following high school, she took courses and, after receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant degree, worked for a short time for the Gilmour Health Care Facility. Vickey then pursued and earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree and went to work for Chenango Memorial Hospital. On July 13, 1998, Vickey married Mike Law in Norwich, and they continued to reside there during the rest of her years. A beautiful person in every way, Vickey was idealistic and never had a bad word for anyone. She could always see the good in everybody. A kind, generous, and loving woman who would always give anybody a hand, she was protective of her family, especially her children, and could be stubborn when their welfare was in question. She loved animals and most kinds of music, and enjoyed singing. Her favorite song expressed her outlook on life – “Pocket Full of Sunshine.”
Vickey is survived by her husband, Mike Law of Norwich; by her son, Ryan Law of Norwich, and stepchildren Brandon Peter Law of Anderson, S.C., and Mackenzie Elizabeth Law, also of Anderson, S.C. She is also survived by her brother, James Miles and his fiancee Kim of Norwich; her nephew and nieces: Brandon Miles of Oneida, and Jessica and Christina Miles of Florida; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Vickey will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Hinman, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in the J.D. Lewis Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Mon. from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
