DORIS E. MONROE
Doris E. Monroe, 88, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home of New Berlin.
Doris was born in Preston on September 23, 1927 the daughter of George and Myra (Sisson) Brazee. She attended school in Kirk, Beaver Meadow and Oxford. On April 14, 1951 in South Plymouth she married Samuel Monroe who passed away in January of 1978. Over the years Doris babysat for many families in the area. She loved all children especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed reading a good book and loved to bake.
Doris will be remembered for her soft voice and pleasant smile.
Doris is survived by her daughter Bonnie Mott of Norwich, her sister Wanda Gregory also of Norwich and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband Sam, Doris was predeceased by her sisters Grace Knapp, Daisy Monroe, Mildred Manwarren and Ora Manwarren and her brother Ralph Brazee.
A funeral service for Doris will be held on Friday, December 4, at 5:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will be in the South Plymouth Cemetery.
