CHARLES E. NOWER
EARLVILLE – Charles E. Nower, 62, of River Road, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1953 in Hamilton, NY, a son of Paul S. and Pauline Howlett Nower. He was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School in 1971 and SUNY, Cobleskill in 1973. On November 18, 1994, Charles married Denise E. Carnrike in the First United Methodist Church, Earlville. He had previously been married to Cynthia Kulak. A lifelong Earlville resident, Charles worked on the family dairy farm, Nowerland Farms, and also became a certified welder. In later years, he began to pursue buying and selling antiques. He had also owned and operated the Bear Paw Sports Shop in Earlville. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, scouting, reading hunting literature and sitting in his tree stand. He had a great love for the outdoors and simply being in the field were the happiest times of his life.
Surviving are his loving wife of 21 years, Denise; his mother, Pauline Nower; his children, Janelle Nower (8), Chadwick Nower (35) and his wife, Hannah, Clarissa Acompora (37) and her husband, Christopher; his beloved grandchildren, Caitlyn, Caley “Sophia”, Chelsey, Chadwick “Keegan” and Ava; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Richard Lewis, Nancy and Stephen Holmes; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Paul S. Nower in 2009, and a brother, Alan P. Nower in 2010.
Memorial services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 14, 2015 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Interment in the Earlville Cemetery will be private.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 2pm prior to the service.
