RHODA L. (RHODIE) PARKS
McDONOUGH – Rhoda L. (Rhodie) Parks, 71, of McDonough went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at her home in McDonough.
Rhoda spent the last 38 years of her life with her companion, Linda Rhodes. Together they fostered several children and adopted six children. Rhoda had many passions in life including music, cooking, dancing and story telling, although the one dearest to her was caring for others.
Rhoda is predeceased by her husband Orrin R. Parks, her biological parents James and Evelyn Wilson Rounds, Ike and Jean Manwarren who raised her from an infant and her brother Bill Rounds.
Rhoda is survived by her companion Linda Rhodes, children Dale Parks and wife Joan of Norwich, Tammy Weaver and husband Harrison of Oxford and Tommy Parks and wife Sue of Greene. Also surviving are her 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her siblings Roberta Shedd, Pearl Buckel, Lucy Lake, Fran Beckwith, Carol Beckwith, Bonnie Loughren, Diane Dunckel and husband David, Charles Rounds and wife Helen, Robert Rounds and wife Eleanor, Garry Rounds and wife June, Clyde Manwarren and wife June, Steve Rounds and wife Ruth and Ben Rounds and wife Molly. Several nieces ,nephews and cousins also survive.
A funeral service for Rhoda will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Reid will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery of McDonough.
