RICHARD F. DUNGEY
SHERBURNE: Richard F. Dungey, 64, of Bryant Rd. passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.
He was born November 13, 1950 in Norwich, a son of the late Frank and Betty Holcomb Dungey. Following his graduation from Sherburne-Earlville High School in 1970, he joined the U.S. Army serving until 1972. On April 11, 1981, Richard married Shaleen R. Fuller in Sherburne. He had worked in Sherburne for Standard Brands, Sherburne Metal Products and International Wire (Hamilton Products). His all-time favorite pastime was watching NASCAR. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, WWE wrestling and model cars. Spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest joy.
Richard was a former member of the Sherburne American Legion Post #876.
Surviving are his wife, Shelley; his mother-in-law, Helen Fuller of Sherburne; his children, Christopher and Ruth Dungey of Sherburne; Erica and Jefferey Bernardo of Endicott; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Don Doing of Coventry; Linda Dungey of Sherburne; Margaret and Roger Palmer of Earlville; Vanessa and Mark Pullman of Sloansville; sister-in-law, Sandy Dungey of Sherburne; his cherished grandchildren, Jamison, Julia, Montana, Raelynn, Danny, Amber and Jimmy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles E. “Chuck” Dungey and Donald G. Dungey; and a sister, Nancy Dungey.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2pm Friday, October 23, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from Noon until 2pm.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
