Louise Loscavio


NORWICH – Louise R. Loscavio, 90, formerly of East Main Street in Norwich, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 in Alpharetta, Ga.
Born Sept. 1, 1919 in Norwich, Louise was the daughter of Guiseppe and Mary (Testa) Benenati.  Following her schooling, she worked for twelve years at the Norwich Knitting Mill and then twenty-eight years at Norwich-Eaton and Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals before retiring in 1984.
Louise loved to cook, especially baking and Italian dishes.  She was a friend to all and had compassion for all people. Her greatest love, however, was for her family.  She was a devoted member of St. Bartholomew’s Church.
On June 14, 1947, in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Louise married Frank N. Loscavio, who passed away on Nov. 12, 1998. 
She is survived by three daughters and their husbands; Marie Loscavio and Daniel Pope of  Big Canoe Jasper, Ga., Carol Ryan of Alpharetta, Ga. and Joan and Jeffrey Weeks of Syracuse; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Frank and Elizabeth Loscavio of San Diego, Calif. and Anthony and Ellen Loscavio of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Francesco, Andrew, Michael Gianni, Anthony and Michael Loscavio, Gabriella and Nicholas Ryan and Matthew and Dominique Weeks and 4 great granddaughters, Isabella, Lilliana, Madelin, and Giuliana.  Louise is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Benenati of Oxford and John Benenati of Littleton, N.C. and a sister, Mary Coe, of Norwich. She was predeceased by brothers, Michael, Anthony, Thomas and Pvt. 1st Class Frank Benenati and sisters, Teresa Benenati, Anna Houpis and Catherine Kennedy.
 A Mass of Christian Burial for Louise will be held at noon on Friday in St. Bartholomew’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the church of Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
