LEON BARROWS
McDONOUGH – Leon Barrows of McDonough. Passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2015. He was born on June 16, 1939 in Norwich a son of the late Derwin and Marion Barrows.
He is survived by his wife Jean (Redenbeck) Barrows; his children, Brenda Button, Debbie and Leon Hurlburt, Thomas and Charlene Barrows, Teresa Hinman, Jeffrey and Sonja Barrows, Steven and Cathy Barrows, Sean and Marci Barrows, and Kraig and Margo Barrows; His brother and sisters, Kenneth Brewer, Carl Brewer, Nancy Reynolds, Sandra Beckwith, Richard Barrows, Cindy Retallack, John Barrows, Laurie Hoag, Larry Barrows, Jeff Barrows, and Billy Barrows. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters Linda Preston, Betty Wheelock, and Susan Lewis.
Leon had worked as a meat cutter at Grand Union in Sidney, NY. He was a member of the McDonough Town Board, The Lake Ludlow Club Board, and was also a member of Faith Bible Church in Oxford. He enjoyed reading and was also an active outdoorsman. His outdoor activities included meat processing of both deer as well as beef. He was also a graduate of Oxford Academy.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2015 from 5:00pm- 8:00pm at Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday October 11, 2015 at Faith Bible Church in Oxford at 3:00pm.
Memorial Contributions may be made to either McDonough or Oxford EMS P.O .Box 172 or to The Faith Bible Church of Oxford P.O. Box 128.
