STANLEY M. KLOCKOWSKI
NORWICH – Stanley M. Klockowski, 98, of Hayward Ave., passed away on Monday October 5, 2015 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born in New York Mills on May 7, 1917 a son of the late Michael K. and Mary Bardski Klockowski and received his education in New Mills Schools. On February 7, 1939 in Sherburne he was united in married to the former Katherine Bonsie. She predeceased him on January 10, 2003.
Stanley was employed by the CCC of Sherburne; the Utica Knitting Mill, Sherburne. He also worked construction on roads and bridges and retired from Bennett-Ireland, Norwich. He was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Sherburne, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He enjoyed all sports and was particularity fond of the Boston Red Sox.
His family was important to him especially his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very proud that all of his children graduated from college.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters in law, Michael J. and Nancy of Guilford; James S. and Anne of St. Petersburg, FL; Richard J. And Patricia of Rome and Barbara Klockowski of Cortland; a sister Jeannette Decker of Utica, a brother John “Jake” Klockowski of Sherburne; sister in law, Angelina Bonsie of Sherburne; ten grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son John D. Klockowski on November 20, 2005; three sisters, Wanda Moryl, Frances Mikus, and Laura Zielinski and a brother Frank Klockowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2 pm from St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, State St., Sherburne, NY. Interment will follow in St. Malachy’s Parish Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call Saturday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home 10 S. Main St. Sherburne, NY, prior to leaving for church.
Contributions in Stanley’s memory may be made to St. Malachy’s Memorial Fund, P.O. 722, Sherburne, NY 13460.
