WINIFRED PALAMARO
NORWICH – Winifred Palamaro, 94, a long time resident of Norwich, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Winnie was born on February 3, 1921 in New Milford, PA the daughter of Hugh and Mayme (Shippert) Stone. She had made Norwich her home for most of her life and was a graduate of the Norwich High School. A 45 year employee of the Norwich Knitting Mill, Winne had worked as an inspector for most of that time. She always had a smile on her face and was a fan of the NY Mets.
On November 4, 1944 in Halstead, PA she married John Palamaro who passed away July 12, 1977.
Winnie is survived by her sisters Gloria Dubois and husband Don of No. Pitcher and Maymie Stone of Norwich . Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband John, Winnie was predeceased by her sisters Vivian Polmatier, Shirley Smith, Molly Stone, Genvieve Bishop, Ethelyn Leet and Barbara Gray and her brothers Freddie Stone, Hugh Stone, Jr., Sheridan Stone, Larry Stone, Harold Stone and Jimmy Stone.
A funeral service for Winnie will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at 5:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev.Brian Conover, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
