David A. Lamb


DAVID A. LAMB
LIVERPOOL – David A. Lamb, 68, formerly of Norwich and most recently of Liverpool, N.Y. passed away on Thursday evening, September 24, 2015 in The Centers at St. Camillus in Syracuse.
He was born December 5, 1946 in Oneida, N.Y. David was predeceased by his parents Lewis B. Lamb, Jr. and Shirley A. (Carpenter) Lamb. He was a graduate of Norwich High School. David served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW. On June 28, 2003, he married Cherry Owens, in the United Methodist Church in New Berlin.
David was a crane operator for Crucible Steel in Syracuse for 30 years until his retirement. David enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. He was accomplished at landscaping and building. He had a unique sense of humor that entertained all he knew and met. He was a kind and gentle man that had a huge giving heart and his generosity and willingness to help others was the trademark of his life.
David is survived by his loving wife Cherry Lamb of Liverpool, his daughter Kirsche Owens-Spicer and her husband David of Savannah, GA; his brothers Wilson Moore of Fla., Dale (Donna) Brooker of South New Berlin, Jerry (Robbie) Lamb of Alabama, Lewis B. Lamb III of Norwich, James (Kris) Lamb of Norwich, and Leon (Vickie) Lamb of Norwich; a special granddaughter Kyrsyka Owens; and also his special dog “Blanca” and his cat “Tink”
He was predeceased by a brother Richard Lamb and his sister Sharon Brooker.
A funeral service for David A. Lamb will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 1 pm in the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff O’Brien, Childrens Pastor of the Northside Baptist Church, Liverpool, NY officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery, Sherburne with Military Honors.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home from 11 am until the time of the service.
