WILLIAM H. COMINGS
MT. UPTON – William H. Comings, 70, of Mt. Upton, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at home following a brief one-sided battle with cancer.
Bill was born in Newton, NJ the son of William and Leoni (Cole) Comings. He attended the Newton High School where he met and married the love of his life, Jody Hartwick.
Bill was a retiree of the United States Postal Service working at the Dover Annex. From his childhood, Bill tirelessly worked on his family farm in Newton. He was also employed for several years doing construction work for C&V Paving in Swartswood, NJ and Stamatto’s gravel pit in Andover, NJ.
Bill moved to New York in 1983. His retirement years were spent tending to his current home, Gateway Farms, where he and Jody reside. Bill & Jody were inseparable. He was a lover of auctions, taking rides on his Harley with his wife, and his daily McDonalds coffee which included chatting with friends and neighbors. He will be remembered by those close to him as a man who above all else cherished and protected his family.
