JARED B. SIMONS
COLUMBUS – Jared Bennett Simons, 55, of Holdridge Rd., passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown after a long and courageous battle with heart and kidney disease.
He was born Mach 22, 1960 in Smyrna, a son of the late Ralph B. and Lillian Aiken Simons.
Jared was a truck driver for over 20 years. He was an avid motorcyclist, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved his dogs.
Surviving are his sons, John and Brett Buell of Earlville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and John Coates of Oswego; Katherine and Jack Winton of Columbus; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven and Sherry Simons of S. New Berlin; Michael and Karen Simons, Ralph, Jr. and Jennifer Simons, all of Columbus; his close friend whom he dearly loved, Laura Smyrski; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many long-time friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the South Edmeston Community Church, 4259 County Rt. 18, Edmeston, followed by a reception in the S. Edmeston Community Center.
Interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, is private at the convenience of his family.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11am prior to the service.
Contributions in his memory may be made to a local humane society.
