NORMA J. SCHUMAN
EARLVILLE – Norma J. Schuman, 86, of Earlville, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Harding Nursing Home, Waterville.
She was born in New Berlin on March 23, 1929 a daughter of the late W. Claire and Agnes Chapin Jennings. She graduated from New Berlin High School and Oneonta State Teachers College. On February 27, 1954 in Roxbury she was united in marriage to Donald H. Schuman. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1994.
Mrs. Schuman taught elementary education at the Sherburne-Earlville Central School System until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Earlville and the United Methodist Women. She loved playing piano.
Surviving are her two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheree Schuman of Utica; Susan and Lee Reising of Sandy Creek, a son, Sheldon Schuman of Earlville, a brother, Dale Jennings of Edmeston, a sister, Ione LeBlanc of Canastota and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Scott Schuman.
A memorial service will be held at 11am Monday, September 14, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Earlville. There are no calling hours.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at the Earlville Cemetery.
